Baby’s Naptime Turned into a Fantasyland by Creative Mom

Usually when a mother puts their baby to sleep, they get some rest themselves, but one imaginative mom turned her son's naptime into a work of art.

Sioin Queenie Liao is a freelance artist living in California. She's a mother of three, and loves including her children in her artistic endeavors. She was particularly inspired by her then 3-month-old, Wengenn.

"I grew up indulging myself in fairy tales," Queenie tells us. "Every day just before Wengenn's nap, I would imagine him being the main character in one of my favorite episodes, and 'paint' a background setting with plain clothes, stuffed animals, and other common household materials, just like how an artist would with her paint brushes."

"After Wengenn fell asleep, I would place him at the center of the theme I'd created and start taking pictures," she continues. "My vision was to create a series of photos portraying him exploring his imaginary, enchanting fairytale-like world."

Queenie has named her series "Wengenn in Wonderland," and the beautifully composed photos were published last year in Taiwan in a book called "Sleepy Baby." An English language version will be out soon, and will surely inspire other mothers to get creative with their children.
