Designers sketch their dress suggestions for Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton and Prince William may not say "I do" until April 29, 2011, but we're hungrily taking in every royal wedding detail until the big day. There has been much speculation and anticipation about which designer Middleton will choose to create her bridal gown, and despite exhibiting impeccable style thus far, there's no denying the pressure is on.

Fashion trade paper Women's Wear Daily asked 29 designers and brands to sketch their concept of The Dress. Only one of the designers is actually British, so we're guessing Middleton will pick "none of the above," but we love seeing what the likes of Vera Wang, Karl Lagerfeld, and J.Crew have conjured up just the same. A submission from Bruce Oldfield, the alleged front-running wedding dress designer, is noticeably absent from the group, which makes us suspect he may be spending his time constructing the real thing!
