Everything You Need to Know About Cleansing Conditioners (Plus, Our Six Favorites!)

by Christa Lee

When two-in-one shampoos started to get popular in the '90s, I loved the concept: It's particularly beneficial in the winter, since it helps cut down on the amount of time you spend in the shower (hot water dries out skin) and there's also the space-saving, money-saving aspects of using one product instead of two separate ones in the shower.

The caveat that many of you might have also experienced was that the traditional shampoo-plus-conditioner formula didn't leave your hair quite as silky smooth as using a separate conditioner did. However, the new crop of "cleansing conditioners" promise to remedy the situation with special ingredients that remove dirt without stripping your hair of nutrients or hydration. Take a look at six great low-lather hair cleansers that will leave your hair super moisturized.
