Living in the Shadows: 7 Groundhogs Who Wish They Were Punxsutawney Phil

All of our eyes will be focused on a small rodent in Western Pennsylvania very soon. While many of us will watch snuggly from our cozy beds, countless Pennsylvania natives will wake bright and early on February 2nd. They will brave the frigid temperatures just to head out to Gobbler's Knob to hear this famous groundhog make his weather prediction. You know the drill: if he sees his shadow, it's six more weeks of winter but if he doesn't see his shadow, well, good old spring is just around the corner. It's a lot of pressure for the furry guy but rest assured, because Punxsutawney Phil has earned the privilege. In fact, there have been many other young rodents who interviewed for the coveted position, even though the job is more-than-a-hundred-year-old gig! And these furry little guys are pretty mad that they didn't make the final selection. Scroll through, and let them explain for themselves why they were sent packing. - By Danielle Sullivan
