Ingredients: 1 package Texas-style biscuits 6 large eggs, beaten 3/4 cup milk salt & pepper to taste 1/4 cup real bacon bits 1 1/2 tablespoons flour 1/2 cup extra-sharp cheddar cheese Directions: 1. Bake biscuits on a large baking sheet. Once cooked, press the bottom of a cup firmly into the center of each biscuit to create a 'nest.' 2. While biscuits are cooking, add eggs and milk to a non-stick skillet. Salt & pepper to taste. Cook the eggs over medium heat until scrambled and cooked through. 3. In a small pot, whisk together the remaining milk and flour. Heat over medium-high heat until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the cheese. 4. To serve, spoon scrambled eggs into the center of each biscuit. Top with cheddar cheese sauce, sprinkle with bacon bits.
One of the most fun things to make for Easter are edible nests. By these I mean chocolate eggs, or maybe jelly bean eggs, nestled in a nest-like food. In most cases this means some sort of shredded coconut. But it also might mean phyllo or coconut chips. To take it one step further, if you would prefer a savory nest you could make something like baked eggs in pasta nests or eggs and bacon in a nest. Both would make great breakfasts, or dinners, and still have a fun celebratory Easter-like feel. Here are seven ways you can make delicious edible nests this Easter! - By Kelsey Banfield
