Insofar as dating is a sport, pro athletes bring some key advantages to the playing field. They know how to be true teammates, i.e. sacrificing their own needs for the greater good of the relationship. And they excel at tests of endurance-a trait that will come in handy during the marathon that is marriage. But alas, they often pair up with other athletes, dashing the hopes of those of us who lack chiseled physiques and superior hand-eye-coordination skills. "It's very hard for me to relate to someone who doesn't do sports at a high level," explains Olympic Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, discussing her romance with golf titan Tiger Woods in this month's issue of Vogue.

Inspired by Vonn and Woods's budding histoire d'amour, we've assembled an all-star lineup of our favorite sports-world pairings, from tennis It-couple Maria Sharapova and Grigor Dimitrov to newly engaged basketball lovebirds Kevin Durant and Monica Wright. When it comes to matters of the heart, consider this the winner's circle.
