Not all inexpensive shampoo is bad but there are some very popular products on the market that are not ideal. Many well-known and loved supermarket brands make hair feel manageable and soft because they are chocked full of silicones and waxes that will build up over time and can dull hair and even clog pores. Whenever possible, buy your products from your stylist, who can recommend the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type.
