The Little Things: 6 Ways to Feel Pretty on "Blah" Days

As a work-at-home mom, the average day doesn't always include hair, makeup, and coordinating clothes. I don't necessarily need those things to feel pretty - in fact, my husband fell in love with me 8 years ago when I admitted that I was actually kind of scrubby. But winter can be especially hard since my skin gets dull and dry, I am less likely to wash and style my hair (there are few things more miserable than getting out of the shower with wet hair when it is freezing outside), and I tend to drown my figure in layers of thermals and sweatpants because I really don't handle cold all that well. I don't mind being a little scrubby in my day-to-day life - my husband likes it and it keeps me warm! - but after a while, it does have a noticeable effect on my self-esteem and my mood.
