Spring Fashion: 10 Pieces to Wear Now and Later

Katherine Bernard

March. It's what you do down the sidewalk during the third month of the year wearing the same old boots you couldn't wait to wear back in October, lifting your head against the wind only to gaze ruefully at the sandals and sling-backs filling up the sunny store windows. In one day it will officially be spring, but the weather doesn't care about labels. Wintry March marches on, and you still have to wear a hat. But during this awkward in-between season, let's not wallow in self-pity. Sure, it's been more than a year since we first lusted after the winter coats we are still wearing. And true, we're conditioned to feel like clothing has a shelf-life shorter than milk, but it's possible to get excited while still having to wear those bulkier, last season pieces that keep the elements at bay. To prove it, Vogue chose ten spring runway favorites that you can wear right now. All you have to do is get creative-and isn't that the whole reason you're excited for spring dressing anyway? Layer cashmere under light trenches and jackets, give your winter pants new life by pairing them with a cool printed button-down, and incorporate sheer pieces and cutouts under heavy winter coats. You know what they say, March comes in like a lion, and goes out like a lambskin motorcycle jacket.
