The Christening of HRH Prince George of Cambridge

Three-month-old HRH George Alexander Louis was christened today at Chapel Royal in St. James's Palace. Proud parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, showed off their future King to the crowds of people and press that gathered for the occasion when they arrived for the ceremony. The Duchess wore a cream Alexander McQueen ensemble with a Jane Taylor Millinery fascinator. Prince William held his son who wore a traditional gown — a replica of the one that had been used since 1841 on generations of royal infants because the original as deemed by the Queen to be too fragile. The festivities continue at Clarence House with a reception. While only 22 guests attended the formal affair, including family members as well as the newly named godparents (Olive Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Earl Grosvenor, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, The Honorable Julia Samuel, Zara Tindall and William Van Custem), 60 guests will sip tea and be served a tier from the duke and duchess's wedding cake that has been preserved for the occasion.
