How to pull off coral lipstick

Coral lipstick is one of the hottest makeup trends this spring. It is quite a bright and daring color, don't you think? It can, however, be a pretty intimidating color to wear, I know. It is so loud that you might be afraid of looking like a clown with it on. But what if I told you that there are some tricks to pulling off this bold shade? Do not shy away from wearing this gorgeous shade just because it looks a little scary at first. Here is how you can pull off coral lipstick.

Use a lip primer

Coral is such a bright lipstick shade that it can bleed into the lines around your mouth. It is important to apply a lip primer beforehand to prevent this from happening. If you do not own a lip primer, concealer or foundation should work just fine.

Whiten your teeth beforehand

Coral lipstick can really bring out the yellow stains in your teeth, so it is important to whiten your teeth with whitening strips beforehand.

Apply a clear lip gloss on top

A clear lip gloss can tone down the intensity of the coral lipstick. Just apply a little bit to the bottom center of your lips. Clear lip gloss can also give your lips shine and make them appear fuller.

Wear coordinating makeup

It is best to keep your blush and eye makeup in the same color family, otherwise your entire look will clash. Start off by applying some peach blush to the apples of your cheeks with a blush brush. Then, apply a gold or copper eye shadow to your eyelids with a small eye shadow brush. Line your upper lash lines with black eyeliner. Add a couple of coats of black mascara, and you are all set to go.

Keep a mirror handy

If you are going to wear a lipstick this bright, it is a good idea to always carry a mirror with you. Unlike lighter lipstick shades, coral lipstick must never be applied casually. It is pretty easy to make a mistake when you're not looking into a mirror. When you have to reapply your lipstick, always do it in front of a mirror.

If you follow the tips above, you have no reason to hesitate about wearing coral lipstick. It will brighten your complexion and make you look like a woman who is not afraid to try something different.
