Will Kate Middleton and Prince William Copy 'The Lion King'? Probably Not, but Twitter Hopes So

When King Simba and Queen Nala of the Pride Lands of Africa announced the birth of their baby in "The Lion King," the rulers of the Animal Kingdom walked out of a cave atop Pride Rock and their friend Rafiki held the newborn cub high up in the air for all to see. After the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby boy at 4:24 p.m. BST on Monday, the official announcement came through a golden easel, but the social media world seems to be begging for Kate Middleton and Prince William to emerge through the doors of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital and hold up their heir to the world, emulating their cartoon cat predecessors.

If the Duke and Duchess don't go for the Disney bit, others have suggested copying a less tasteful introduction used by another famous figure: Michael Jackson. The King of Pop dangled his own Prince, formally known as Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., over a hotel balcony in Berlin in 2002. Doubtful, however, that the new parents follow the late musician's lead and hang the youngest His Royal Highness from a Buckingham palace window. For one thing, Queen Elizabeth would never approve.
