Achieve Facial Harmony

Celebrity make-up artist Troy Surratt says a monochromatic look is classically feminine. So mix a bit of your lipstick (whether red, poppy pink, or coral) with moisturizer to make a cream blush and dab it on the apples of your cheeks.

Don't See Red
On pollen-filled spring days when you know your allergies will be acting up, Surratt advises to stay away from green eye makeup because it makes your eyes look even more bloodshot. Instead, go for midnight or navy blue shadow, since it has an optical effect, leaving the whites of your eyes looking brighter.

Go Highbrow
Fuller eyebrows have surpassed their overly plucked, thin counterpart as today's arch of choice. But all of those untweezed hairs can get a little unruly. Surratt suggests brushing them up using a toothbrush spritzed with hairspray to put them in their place.

Become a Mix Master
Just thinking about wearing a dense concealer when it's hot out can make you sweat. Makeup artist Mally Roncal, founder of Mally Beauty, suggests mixing your cover-up with eye cream to add moisture and create a sheerer, lighter look and feel.

Refrigerate It
Forget your makeup bag during the summer: Roncal suggests storing your lipsticks in the fridge to keep them hard and make them last longer. Not to mention they'll feel nice and cool when you apply them.

Don't Be Embarrassed to Blush
Your cheeks aren't the only part of your face that you want to look rosy this spring. Roncal advises dabbing a bit of blush above the arch of your eyebrows, where the sun would naturally hit. This will give you that natural, fresh-faced flush but in the healthy way-without the sun.

Blow Off Some Steam
Styling your own hair can be frustrating-it's often hard to get it just right. But Aveda's Artistic Director of Cutting, Ricardo Dinis, says a simple change of scenery is all you need to get those strands to stay in place. If you've just showered, be sure to blow-dry your hair in a room other than the bathroom. The steam and humidity from your shower may be what's keeping you from creating the perfect coif.

Embrace the High Bun
The top-knot hairstyle has made its way from the catwalk to the sidewalk and shows no sign of going away. If you want to add a little novelty to this classic look, stylist Jon Reyman suggests braiding your hair before pinning it up. Once it's in a bun on top of your head, pull it apart a bit to add texture.

Make Your Mane Move
To add movement to your hair, Reyman suggests putting it in a braid, flat-ironing it, then taking out the braid and brushing your hair out. This will leave you with modern-looking waves.

Take a Silk Slumber
If you're a girl with fine, brittle, or bleached hair, softening up your sleep habits will do the same for your locks. NYC-based hair stylist Lizzy Weinberg says using a silk pillowcase can prevent hair breakage since strands glide across it, whereas a cotton fabric can catch hair and cause friction.

Be a Couch Potato
Summer's all about enjoying the warm weather and late sunsets. And let's be honest-that means there may be a few days in a row that you don't get to bed before midnight. To help get rid of puffy eyes and dark circles, skincare expert Kate Somerville suggests using a raw potato. First, pop the spud in the fridge. After it cools, slice it up and place the slices in water for a minute or two. Finally, lay down, place one over each eye, and relax for ten minutes.

Milk It For All It's Worth
Milk does more than a body good; a homemade milk wash will do wonders for your face. Somerville suggests dipping a cotton ball in heavy cream or milk and using it as a cleanser. The lactose enzymes will dissolve dirt and debris, and the proteins will nourish your skin. Splash water on your face after, then pat dry with a towel. Lactose intolerant? Muddle a few grapes and massage the flesh in circles across your face; rinse.
