3 Easy Steps to the Perfect Blowout
No matter the weather, Kate Middleton's hair is always perfectly polished. See how to master your own blowout skills so you can walk around feeling like royalty too.
Why is it that when you're at the salon, the stylist makes it look so easy to blow out your hair, yet days later when you try to recreate the look you wind up sweaty, tangled, and nothing to show for it but some seriously frizzy hair?
In the world of blowouts, there is no one who constantly looks as good as Kate Middleton. Her hair withstands the tempermental London weather and seemingly there is never a strand out of place. Celebrity stylist René Fris shares his tricks for getting a Middleton-inspired blowout, and most importantly- one that you can do on your own. See how you can master your mane below:
#1. Use the Right Brush
"The most important thing about drying your hair is to make sure you are using the right brush," Fris explains. "If you want to give your hair a light flip, use a round brush over a paddle one. Take your head and flip it upside down to dry-this will create more volume." Fris also recommends crunching your hair with a mousse or styling spray while it is upside down and applying heat immediately after. And of course...practice! The rule you learned in elementary school still proves true today-the more you practice, the better you'll be.

#2. Get the Perfect Blowout
Anyone who has hair past their chin knows that drying your hair and giving yourself a blowout are two different things entirely. Fris says to start your blowout by letting your dryer blow loosely through your entire head (make sure your an arms length away to prevent heat damage). When it's time to style, divide your hair into 2-inch sections and while using your brush, run your blow dryer through a few times each to dry. When finished, you'll have a dry, bouncy blowout to show for it.

#3. Prep and Finish Your Strands
You can get the perfect blowout on your own, but if you don't use the right products it's sure to fall flat within five minutes of going outside. To prep, Fris says to use a mousse like Kerastase Nutritive Mousse Nutri-Sculpt and a styling spray like Joico Joishape Medium Finishing Spray. "To ensure that your blowout will always look good, make sure you get regular haircuts to eliminate dead ends and extra weight," Fris advises.
