Lather Up
Dirt, oil and product buildup can weigh hair down and cause it to fall flat, so use a good clarifying shampoo designed for your hair type to ensure your locks are squeaky-clean. Afterward, towel-dry, leaving your hair slightly wet.

Prep With Product
Apply a blow-dry lotion to damp hair from mid-shaft to ends. These products build volume and protect strands from the heat of your dryer. Run the dryer over your entire head until your hair is 50% dry.

Divide and Conquer

Segment hair into three sections, one in front and two in back. Then, further divide these sections into three smaller ones. Starting in back, run a round brush through each section from root to end as you blow-dry it straight.
