4 Ways to Style Summer Bangs

Summer bangs can be a pain in the butt. There's nothing fun about a sweaty patch of hair on your forehead, but at the same time we just can't let go of our look! Stylist Mark Perez of The Mint Salon in New York gave us four tips on how to pull them off in scorching 90-degree weather.

Give them more volume
When blowdrying your bangs, round brush them away from your face either to the side or upward, slightly curling them to add a little more volume. Adding more volume means the hair itself will be pulled away from your forehead to prevent sweating.

Use a flat iron
Adding a bit more heat in the summer helps the style last longer. Humidity is quick to pouf up your hair. You also want to stray away from using too many product so your hair can feel as light as possible.

Take weight off
Have your stylist trim your bangs with a razor. This technique takes weight off without making your hair appear too thin. The less weight you have in your hair the more comfortable you'll feel rocking bangs in the heat.

Go for a side swept bang
If you really want bangs, try a side swept look as opposed to a classic bang. Classic bangs tend to be a little too heavy for summer because they fall directly on your face, close to your brows. Think of celebs like Aubrey Plaza, Shakira and Cheryl Cole, who all have slightly longer side bangs that can be brushed away from their faces.
