1. Sooth a Sunburn

"Cool or cold milk compresses are recommended for sunburned skin, allergic reactions, dryness, and eczema. Milk contains lactic acids that help in aiding face redness, since they act as an exfoliant when applied to the skin. Protein, also found in milk, helps soothe the skin by acting as a hydrator, relieving redness, rashes, and irritation. All you have to do is soak a cotton ball in milk and apply to the skin!"

2. Prevent a Mascara Meltdown

"To avoid the dreaded running mascara, cosmetic scientist Ni'Kita Wilson once told me to look for waterproof mascara formulas containing polymers, as opposed to waxes, to maintain non-panda eyes. To keep my lashes looking their best, I always squeeze two drops of Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel into all of my new mascaras on day one. It gives the formula an extra moisture boost, without liquefying it too much. This helps avoid flaking and keeps your mascara tube from drying out before month three."

3. Fight Fizz

"The best way to fight frizz is to add product to the hair while it's wet. Once dry, try not to disrupt hair-this will create frizz. You should also re-apply product throughout the day as needed. A great anti-frizz product is Motions Foam Wrap. Apply the foam to hair while damp, then you can double strand, twist, or scrunch into the hair. Wait for hair to dry, then release. This creates a simple style with no frizz or fuss. Another great product to tame frizz is the Phyto Botanical Hair Relaxing Balm. Put a dime-size drop in hair while wet and style as usual."

4. Boost Faded Hair Color

"The sun and chlorine can really wreck havoc on your hair. To boost faded color, try a tea treatment: chamomile for blondes and black tea for brunettes. Steep four tea bags in one gallon of boiling water for five minutes and let it cool. Then, pour it over clean, dry hair. Put on a shower cap and let it sit for 10 minutes. Shampoo and condition as usual and watch your color come back to life!"

5. Stop Excessive Shine

"First make sure that you are not using moisturizer on your t-zone (it will just make you look more shiny). Also, be sure to use an exfoliating cleanser daily like Neutrogena Deep Clean Long Last Shine Control Cleanser Mask (this product can also be used as a mask once or twice a week for three minutes). For midday shine, I like blotting papers. Powder sunscreen is also a good way to minimize shine-keep it in your handbag and apply in the afternoon."

6. Reverse a Blotchy Self-Tanner Job

"First, try to exfoliate with a loofah and some liquid cleanser. If you still need to even out the faux tan, you can make a salt glow with the following:
1/4 cup Epsom salt
1/4 cup sea salt
2 tbsp powdered milk
2 tbsp honey
Mix well and rub in circles on the splotchy area or add it to a warm bath. Soak in the tub for 10 minutes to loosen the top layer of skin and your spotty tan should be gone!"
