Fake a flirty bob
"Kerry Washington's tucked-under faux bob is so easy," says hairstylist Marcus Francis, who did it for her. First, spritz hair with a thickening spray like Phyto Phytovolume Actif Volumizing Spray, $29. Blow-dry, using your hands to rough up strands. Then pull into a low ponytail. Secure with an elastic, but don't pull the tail through-stop when it forms a loop. Pin the looped hair along the nape of your neck.

More secrets:
1. "Here's a D.I.Y. treatment to cut down on brassiness: Steep two bags of chamomile tea in warm water. Pour over damp hair, leave for 10 minutes, then shampoo out."

2. "For a great drugstore find, I like Mane 'n Tail Shampoo [$6.99]. It's my go-to product for amazing shine."
