Chanel's Exaggerated Eye Look: Cool or Crazy?

It's no secret that I'm a full-fledged fan of edgy, outside-the-box beauty looks, so it really shouldn't come as a surprise that I'm actually into the totally badass, I've-been-crying-my-eyes-out-for-a-whole-year look Chanel creative director of makeup Peter Philips masterminded at yesterday's Spring 2013 couture show in Paris. Good grief, that's G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!

It looks as if black and gunmetal shadow was smeared all over the eyelid, and several jagged wings (created with liquid liner) were extended far past the outer corner and beneath the eye. From there, tulle appliques were strategically placed on top of the jagged wings, to amplify the eye and create the illusion of being 'almost an extension of the head accessories,' Philips told our friends over at Style.com.

Yep. Totally sold. Morning-after makeup never looked so good. I'm going to try it next time I find myself out in Hackney after hours. (East London is probably the only place I can actually get away with it!)
