There are tons of other at-home beauty remedies we love and involve just a few ingredients that can be found in your kitchen. Here, we round up our top 5.
1. Use fresh pineapples or kiwi skins to exfoliate heels. During the summer, it's important to keep the skin on your feet feeling smooth and looking moisturized. If you are in-between pedicures, this is a great smoothing treatment to try. Simply rub sliced pineapples or kiwi skins over the fleshy part of your heels for 5 minutes, rinse, pat dry and apply moisturizer.
2. Coconut oil is a great deep conditioner.Studies claim that it can provide shine and help to penetrate the strand to make it stronger. If you have kinky or curly hair, this oil can work as a moisturizing miracle. Also, if you are going from relaxed to natural hair, coconut oil can help to protect new growth so you can avoid breaking or damaging the hair. Apply and wear with a heat cap or (if you're pressed for time) wear it overnight.

3. Make a sour cream mask. Slathering your face in sour cream may not sound appetizing, but this thick dairy product actually works double time to serve as a moisturizing mask and exfoliant. Lactic acid helps to to speed cell turnover and brighten dull complexions while natural fats restore skin's moisture. To use, smooth one to two tablespoons of cool, full-fat sour cream in a thin layer over your clean face and neck, avoiding the eye and lip areas. Wait 7 to 10 minutes, then remove the mask with a wet washcloth. Splash skin with warm water and pat dry.
4. Olive oil removes eye makeup. If that waterproof mascara just won't budge, try using a bit of olive oil to help it dissolve. Dab a few drops onto a cotton ball and swipe over your eyes to gently remove eye makeup. Bonus: olive oil also serves as a great moisturizer, so there's no need to rinse it off.
5. Soften skin with lemons. Take a freshly cut lemon and gently rub on rough elbows and knees. The acid in the lemon will work to soften skin and lighten any dark areas.
