Glamour's beauty director on always eating dessert, the truth about nail art, and more.

We didn't ask, but we're pretty sure Felicia Milewicz, Glamour's longtime beauty director, has plenty of Prada in her closet. Other than that, there's nothing Devil-like about the veteran editor, who began as a self-described 'schlepper' at Mademoiselle in the 1970s and rose up to become the magazine's beauty editor. Over the past 11 years, she's run Glamour's beauty department, placing her squarely at the top of our list of people we most want to hang out with. We visited the vivacious editor at her product-filled office to find out what red lipsticks make the cut, her best beauty tips, and what she really thinks of nail art.

BLOOD, SWEAT, AND BEAUTY
I started at the very bottom. I called myself a schlepper. Condé Nast is my home. I've learned everything here. I have had the opportunity to work with the best talent in the world, and the toughest.

DIET, SCHMIET
I love sugar. I think a meal without dessert is not worth it. I don't believe in dieting. I try to eat healthy but not too healthy.

MANDATORY SCENT
I can't go out without a fragrance. It's like a drug for me. For a long time I was addicted to Guerlain Vol de Nuit. I also love Courmandel by Chanel and I love the new fragrances Tom Ford has come out with.

SIGNATURE SHADE
I wear red lipstick year-round and I love all different kinds: Tom Ford, Guerlain, BY TERRY. As far as finish, I need a little bit of gloss.

HOT OR NOT
History repeats itself. I love the smoky eye trend and I don't want it to disappear. I am tired of nail art. It is too much, with all the decoration. But it's the easiest way to experiment.

FULL COVERAGE, PLEASE
I love foundation. They make the formulas now so they're good for you. Chantecaille, SK II, Armani-there are so many good ones. Foundation gives you the perfect canvas.

TRICKS OF THE TRADE
When I was a young editor, a makeup artist taught me to brush blush on the apples of your cheeks, and then a little on your eyelids. It gives you an authentic glow, like you went for a run. Brush a little on your earlobes too-they're so close to your face they're practically part of it. To get sexy lips without injections, apply a darker lipstick with a lighter one in the middle of the upper and lower lips, plus a touch of gloss.
