We've seen basically every braid idea under the sun at this point-but to actually recreate the cool looks? Now that's the tricky part. Step 1: Braids work best on second-day hair, but if time isn't on your hands, sprinkle a thickening powder like Fudge Urban Powder Styler all over your hair to create texture. Split the hair into two big sections, straight down the middle, instead of the three you need for a standard braid.

Step 2: Take a thin strand from the outside of the right section and cross it over to join with the left section. Then take a strand from the left section and bring it across to join the right. Repeat until you reach the end.

Step 3: Tie the braid off, then tease it apart. Pull and tug the sides to loosen it up. Braids look best when they don't look perfect.

Pro tip: Don't be afraid to get your braid messy. After you've completed your braid, pull out random sections and run a brush over the braid to give it a cool texture.
