If you haven't tried beauty oils yet, get thee to your nearest cosmetics aisle. The benefits of oils are endless. Not only do they hydrate and add sheen to skin and hair, but they also create a natural protecting barrier. From your scalp to your heels, see the many reasons why you'll love beauty oils.

For the body
Immediately after showering or bathing, apply a few drops of body oil to damp skin to lock in moisture. Reapply as needed throughout the day on dry skin. You can also use body oils to create slip during a massage, or as part of a moisturizing, relaxing bath soak.

For the complexion
Remember that like attracts like. So when using cleansing oil on the face, apply it to dry skin so that it more easily wipes away the oils and waxes from your makeup. Massage thoroughly, and rinse away with water. To use oils as facial moisturizers, dab a drop or two onto damp skin, rubbing in gently. Then, say goodbye to fine lines and hello to more even, plumped-up skin.

For the hair
As a preshampoo treatment, apply warmed oil to dry hair and scalp, and allow to sit for about 20 to 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse; no conditioner needed. For a leave-in treatment, apply a few drops of oil from the midshaft to ends postshampoo. And for a deep conditioning treatment overnight, apply oil to damp hair and cover with a shower cap. Shampoo out in the morning to reveal silky, shiny strands. You can also use beauty oils to tame flyaways and mend split ends. Just apply a small amount of oil to the palms of the hands and lightly run through dry hair.

For the nails
Apply a cuticle oil or all-purpose body oil to nails premanicure to soften the cuticles. Push back cuticles with a wooden stick, and if applying a nail color, wipe away the oil with polish remover so it doesn't interfere with the lacquer's adhesion. But once the polish is 100 percent dry, you can always reapply more oil to hydrate as needed.
