When you're always in the spotlight, sometimes you need a style reinvention. These celebrities have have major transformations, changing everything from their fashion sense to their hair color.

1. Rooney Mara


Rooney's cascading brunette curls and sheer top adorned with an oversized bow and lace relay her feminine fashion sense at the 2010 Youth in Revolt premiere.


Rooney has gone to the dark side at the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo premiere. Her new inky cut and red lips are full of naughty sex appeal.

2. Jennifer Lopez


Jenny from the Block was a brunette with bouncing curls at the 1997 premiere of Anaconda. The dark lip color was a temporary blunder for the dancer-turned-singer-turned-actress.


Three marriages and twins later, J.Lo is taking a more natural approach to makeup, but she still has a weakness for sheer red carpet attire at the 2011 American Music Awards.

3. Emma Watson


At the 2008 premier of The Tale of Despereaux, Emma is still the innocent Hermoine from the Harry Potter epic with her sideswept bangs, shoulder-length curls, and basic makeup look.


Emma shows she is all grown up at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. With the end of her childhood acting career, she has opted for an edgier look with a short brunette crop and eye makeup that is both glittering and smoky.

4. Katy Perry


When it comes to her hair, Katy Perry has wandered the color spectrum from blue to pink. Here she is wearing a reserved black bob with a blunt bang at the 2009 Palais des Festivals in Cannes. But her bright lip color and stand-out lashes still grab attention.


At the launch of her perfume, MEOW!, Katy has chosen a demure blonde look that suggests her days as a color junkie are through (but with a hint of blue still visible in this do we doubt it!)

5. Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwen is attempting to pull off a vampire chic look with her rusty red lip and dark fur. But we do think she pulls off her pixie cut with class at the 1997 premiere of Hard Eight.


Gone are the dark days for Gwen. At the 2011 Emmy Awards she chose a dainty lace ensemble with straight blonde strands and a center part.
