For most of us, the act of getting ready for the world each morning is a blurry-eyed, caffeine-fueled affair-hardly what you'd called chic-and yet there are stylish women who make the whole thing appear so easy. Each day this week, we'll ask one of them to reveal the secrets to their a.m. routines, starting with model Miranda Kerr. Here, her tricks to waking up on the right side of the bed on a regular basis, from starting the day with a glass of warm water and lemon to the importance of cuddles and lymphatic drainage.

What is the very first thing that you do when you wake up?
Give my son a cuddle and make breakfast together.

Early bird or night owl?
I try to get to bed at a reasonable hour but it doesn't always happen. I would have to say that I'm naturally a night owl but since having my son, I've learned to get to bed earlier. I incorporate little rituals like a nighttime meditation, lighting candles, and misting my face and pillow with my Kora Organics Calming Lavender Mist the evening before. I set my alarm depending on what I have planned for the next day, but I am usually woken quite early by my beautiful little boy.

What is your morning beauty regime?
Being a busy mom, I try to keep it simple. Before showering, I dry body brush-this aids circulation and lymphatic drainage and it's also a great way to exfoliate my body. My skincare routine is basic but really effective. I cleanse, tone, and moisturize using Kora Organics Foaming Cleanser, Energizing Citrus Mist, and the Hydrating Day and Night Cream. Then I apply Kora Organics Tinted Day Cream, which has a natural SPF and gives a radiant complexion; put on some lip balm; curl my lashes; and do a light coat of mascara. Every second day, I wash my hair using Clear Total Care shampoo and conditioner. Its rich blend of vitamins and nutrients nourish the scalp and hair.

What do you do to prepare mentally for the day-any meditation or physical exercises?
I have a chakra morning meditation that I like to practice, it's designed so you can begin your day with a bright, positive energy frequency and surround yourself with healing light. I also like to do at least 20 minutes of exercise; generally it's yoga or Pilates.

When it comes to deciding what to wear in the morning, do you plan ahead?
My fashion changes depending on my mood and where I'm going. If it's a play date with Flynn, you'll find me in flats and jeans; for a business meeting I like to dress more feminine and conservative. If I have an important business meeting, I plan my outfit the evening before so I know in the morning what I'm wearing and what I feel confident in. This prevents any last-minute stress so I can focus on the meeting and day ahead. I don't take seasonal trends too literally. I like to take a key statement piece and build around it. I also love accessories.

What is your breakfast of choice?
It changes daily, but often includes starting with a glass of warm water with half a freshly squeezed lemon. I then like to have a cold-pressed organic green juice. After that I have avocado either on gluten-free toast or with organic free-range eggs. For maximum energy and vitality I make a green power smoothie that is alkalizing and high in vitamins and minerals. Typically my own recipe is this: The water from a young fresh coconut, half a glass of goat or almond milk, 1 tablespoon acai powder, 1 tablespoon goji berries, 1 tablespoon spirulina, 1 tablespoon raw cacao powder, 1 tablespoon maca powder, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, 1 tablespoon raw vegan protein powder, and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.
