The Pinstrosity: "I followed all of the online instructions, putting drops of nail polish into the bowl with water. Next, I dipped each nail in, one by one. The first couple didn't look exactly like the picture, but I assumed I was on the right track, so I continued. By the time I was done, I realized that I had to get dressed and leave for work in 15 minutes. I quickly cleaned up the excess polish around the nails, got dressed in record time, and hurried out to my bus stop. I wasn't sure why the usually friendly faces gave me awkward looks, until I looked down at my new white jeans and saw nail polish smeared on them." -- Emma Walsh less

All day long: pin, pin, pin! Instead of just oohing and aahing over pretty, inspiring nail art on Pinterest, what happens when you actually get around to trying nail art you have pinned, like that "simple" chevron nail art tutorial or that "effortless" French tip manicure? Sometimes it works, and sometimes you get a pinstrosity. We asked Shine readers to share their failed nail art they so naively pinned on Pinterest. All we can say is: "Nailed it!" -- Ali Swank
