While the natural look outranked the bolder beauty looks at the Paris 2013 fashion shows, when the designers did let their makeup artists dip into the palette, they really did. Pat McGrath's Technicolor lids of turquoise, purples and greens (which were even dotted with Swarovski crystals) at Dior led the way, but we also loved Peter Philips' platinum shadow at Chanel, which appeared both green and sky blue in different light. Equally memorable were certain powerful puckers. Not usually a big color guy, Dries Van Noten shook things up by sending his girls out with magenta lips, courtesy of Mr. Philips. But the most memorable will be the grape lips at Haider Ackermann, which Stephane Marais created with a trio of MAC shades. They almost looked lit from within.

Here, some great brights to play with.
