VIDEO: A Perfect Manicure in Four Easy Steps
There's nothing like the clean-cut look of well manicured cuticles and freshly polished, shapely nails. But salon manicures are expensive and can cut a large chunk out of your day. Don't sweat it. You can watch my video and follow along with the tips below to get that pretty salon mani at home.
Step 1:
Apply a base coat to your natural nails to protect them from yellowing and help the nail polish stay on longer.
Step 2:
Apply a thin, nearly sheer coat of the color polish to the nails evenly. For less mistakes, start in the middle and pivot your nails to get the sides.
Step 3:
Apply a second, thin layer of polish. Doing two thin layers instead of one thick one will cut down on drying time and prevent your manicure from looking uneven.
Step 4:
If you got any polish on your cuticles, quickly wipe them off with a wood stick. Then, apply a layer of fast-drying top coat to all your nails after letting them dry for a few minutes.
Pro tip: Refresh your nails by adding another layer of topcoat every few days for long lasting wear.
