Cindy Crawford

remains one of the most beautiful women in the world. Even at 46, she puts most women in their early 20s to shame. Her beauty is largely due to fantastic genes. But that's not all. Crawford is also largely against makeup.

It might seem crazy that a woman who is famous for beauty is saying that she looks younger when she forgoes makeup, but it's so true. I have definitely noticed that I get told I look youngest when I am fresh-faced and my hair is pulled back into a ponytail.

It seems counterintuitive, but it makes sense. All those things women think makeup covers, it actually just makes worse.

When an older woman wears foundation and it settles in the creases in her skin, it looks bad. Also, older women wear more makeup. It's just a fact. So I will often assume someone is 10 to 15 years older than they are when they have a full face of makeup. It just ages you.

Makeup isn't a fix-all solution to aging and acne and everything in between. Makeup isn't even all that attractive. Sure, it can be fun to play with and wear on occasion, but any woman who thinks she is fooling anyone with a full "face" is wrong.

Crawford didn't say she skips ALL makeup. She just said she wears less now. Less is more when it comes to makeup. Think BB cream over foundation, a little eyelash curl and mascara over liner and shadow, and cream color as opposed to powder blush.

The "natural" look is what keeps you young. You want to cover up the blemishes ever so slightly without looking like you have a mask on, people! Crawford has the right idea. Don't fight your face. Let it shine.

Do you think makeup makes people look old?
