Monte Cristo Recipe
You can't go wrong with a classic Monte Cristo, which essentially is a savory version of French toast, since the egg-battered white bread is filled with ham, turkey and Swiss cheese before it hits the skillet. But you can add some sweet to the mix by serving it with powdered sugar and jam.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
8 1/2-in.-thick slices white bread
6 oz thinly sliced turkey breast
6 oz thinly sliced ham
6 oz thinly sliced Swiss cheese
4 tsp olive oil
2 large eggs
2 Tbsp whole milk
RECIPE PREPARATION:
1. Spread the mustard evenly on the bread and form sandwiches with the turkey, ham and Swiss cheese.
2. Heat 2 tsp of the oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat.
3. In a shallow baking dish, whisk together the eggs and milk. Dip two of the sandwiches in the egg mixture, turning to coat, and place in the skillet. Cook, covered, until the bottoms are golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Turn and cook, covered, until the bottoms are golden and the cheese has melted, 3 to 4 minutes more. Transfer to a baking sheet and cover with foil to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining oil, egg mixture and sandwiches.
