Bananas Foster (pictured above)

An ex-roommate of mine used to make these after a particularly boozy night out, although considering how flammable butter/alcohol is, it probably wasn't the safest cooking experiment. Nevertheless, this dessert is easy enough to make in less than five minutes. Just grab some butter, bananas, amaretto, and vanilla ice cream. You'll make your roommates very happy.

INGREDIENTS

2 ripe bananas
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons amaretto
Vanilla ice cream

DIRECTIONS

Peel and cut the bananas in half lengthwise, then horizontally.

In a large pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the bananas and turn until both sides are cooked. Sprinkle the brown sugar on top to caramelize, then add the amaretto. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 1 minute. Remove from the heat and serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
