Pepper Steak with Spinach and Beans

This fast dinner recipe is ready in less than 20 minutes, involves minimal preparation, and doesn't compromise on flavor or the idea of what dinner should be.

INGREDIENTS

For the steak:
2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon salt
Two 8-ounce steaks
1/2 tablespoon olive oil

For the spinach and beans:
1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon complete seasoning
1 15-ounce can cannellini beans
5 ounces spinach

DIRECTIONS

For the steak:
In a bowl, mix the pepper and salt. Coat the sides of each piece of steak in the pepper and salt mixture, making sure to cover the surface of the sides.

In a medium-sized frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks, covered, for about 5 minutes on each side for medium.

For the spinach and beans:
In a medium-sized saucepan, heat the olive oil and 1/2 of the garlic powder and complete seasoning over medium heat.

Add the beans, then add the remaining garlic powder and complete seasoning. Mix together for about 3 minutes. Next, add the spinach, carefully folding it into the beans.

Cook until the spinach has turned a dark green color, then remove immediately from the heat to prevent overcooking.

Serve with the steak.

Mini Steak and Cheese on a Stick

With steak and cheese dancing on my mind this past week, we decided to marry intuition with the culinary theme, creating food-festival-meets-carnival-esque bites, mini steak and cheeses on sticks. Messy? Yes. Delicious? Oh yes. Worth it? Do you even have to ask? Oh and P.S., it's pretty easy.

Ribeye Steaks with Salsa Verde

With high-quality rib-eye steaks, the best is to keep things simple - just sprinkle each side of the steaks with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper and get cooking. Topping the meat with a bright, fresh sauce like salsa verde just before serving adds color and a great contrasting flavor.
