Baked Sweet Potato Fries
Baked Sweet Potato Fries

These oven-baked fries are crisp, pack a little heat, and promise to satisfy the potato lover in you. Make sure to serve them with our kicked-up Cajun Ketchup! This ketchup is not only great with fries, but it's also delicious on top of a burger, it can take the place of hot sauce, or it can be served with eggs for breakfast.

Ingredients:

3 yams, cut into ½ inch strips

2 sweet potatoes, cut into ½ inch strips

¾ cup olive oil

2 teaspoons paprika

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons garlic powder

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees fahrenheit. Combine the seasonings into a small bowl with the olive oil and stir. In a large bowl, coat the yam and sweet potato strips with the oil and seasoning mixture. Spread the fries onto 2 cookie sheets (try to space them out so they're not overlapping) and bake for 30 minutes. If your oven tends to run hot, keep an eye on the fries after the 15 minute mark and lower the temperature if they start to look like they're burning.

Cajun Ketchup

Ingredients:

1 cup onion, chopped

1 cup green bell pepper, chopped

½ cup celery, chopped

Olive oil

1 cup ketchup

1 ½ tablespoon worcestershire

Directions:

To start, heat a pan over medium heat with just enough olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan. Sautee the onions until they are soft, and then add the chopped celery and bell peppers. Once all of the vegetables have begun to break down, remove them from the pan and let them cool in a small bowl for 10-15 minutes.

Once the vegetables have cooled, add the ketchup and worcestershire sauce to the bowl and stir to combine. Your cajun ketchup will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days! We're pretty sure it's so delicious, it won't last that long anyway :)
