Watch world renowned chef and restaurateur Bobby Flay on why you shouldn't let grilling intimidate you:

genConnect caught up with Flay at the 30th Anniversary of the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen after he finished a running his 5K charity race. His biggest tip for grilling? Don't overthink it.

"Cook within yourself," he says. "Don't try things that are just way beyond what your skill set might be. Grilling is a very simple thing and people are intimated by it. But really it's just fire with some grates. Think about it like cooking on top of your stove - it's really the same thing."

Flay, who currently runs 16 restaurants, ranging from high-end locations like Mesa Grill to 10 locations of Bobby's Burger Palace, is also working on his next new book, Barbecue Addiction.

"I'm a lucky guy," Flay says. "I have my hands around lots of things but they all revolve around that one word: Food. I'm happy to be able to do the things that I love to do."
