Almost everyone remembers growing up and tearing apart those silver packages and shoving that little pastry into the toaster before heading off to school in the mornings, but did we really ever stop to think that we were actually eating 400 calories just by simply popping something out of the toaster and into our mouth? Many people never actually look at the other side of the Pop-Tarts box and for good reason to, because I'm guessing they don't really want to know how awful these child hood memories are. Not to say I didn't eat them, because I did and my favorite was chocolate fudge. What I will say is that there are better options out there now with the changing scene of the food industry and it we can make better choices, why not do it?

This review takes two well-known brands: Amy's and Pop-Tarts and pairs them up against each other in a taste and nutrition test. The Amy's brand came out on top for both categories and this might enrage some people, but that's ok. The Amy's brand tasted almost exactly to what you remember eating as a child except that it has fewer everything nutritionally speaking. If you are able to find these toaster pops at the store, go ahead and give them a try. The nutritional information below is based on one package or two toaster pops.
