Kettle Corn

Nothing tastes better than kettle corn on a fall evening. Just a few ingredients, a few minutes, and you are ready to watch that movie and enjoy old fashioned sweet and salty kettle corn goodness.

Kettle Corn

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup popcorn kernels

salt to taste

Heat the oil on medium-high heat, in a 3 quart, large saucepan. Toss in 2-3 kernels. When these pop, add the sugar, then the rest of the popcorn. Cover with a lid. Hold lid and pan and shake the pan over the heat until all popping stops. Pour the hot popcorn into a bowl. Sprinkle with salt.

This isreallyhot so wait a few minutes to eat.

The popcorn should have a nice caramel color. Add nuts if you want. Add food coloring with the kernels and see what happens. Put in fancy bags and give as gifts.
