Just when we thought we've seen and heard it all-Krispy Kreme battles Dunkin Donuts' Glazed Breakfast Sandwich by introducing the Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe!

National Donut Day, this past Friday, seems to have brought out the best, and well, maybe the worst, in the country's leading donut providers-desperate to shock and plump loyal consumers everywhere.

With the arrival of Dunkin Donuts' new Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich on Friday, it seems as though the sugary goodness rival, Krispy Kreme, has outdone DD and so, in the form of a sloppy joe!

The Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe, a deep-fried, beef-based, cheddar-cheese creation, served on two halves of glazed donut, was sold at Chicken Charlie's (California's "deep-fry king") at the San Diego County Fair on Saturday. At this point in time, it's unclear whether or not the item will actually be added to any Krispy Kreme menus, or if it's one about to take off from the fair.

Weighing in at 360 calories, the Dunkin Donut breakfast sandwich seems less bold when juxtaposed to that of the Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe-without an official calorie count thus far.
"Finally a heart attack that tastes great!" wrote a clearly ecstatic supporter on Chicken Charlie's Facebook page. I guess a calorie count is the last thing on Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe lovers' minds.

With all this outrageous competition, Dunkin Donuts should consider changing their slogan to "America runs on gluttony." Krispy Kreme has taken the meaning of a doughnut sandwich to a whole new level! What's next?
