Meatless fast food that actually has meat

I'm not a vegetarian, but I would definitely like to know if the beans/vegetables/rice I ordered at a restaurant were cooked with meat, wouldn't you? Now, that seems more likely to happen.

Restaurant chains are under pressure to disclose whether meat or meat products were used to make their dishes, even if those menu items are not described as vegetarian or vegan.

A few findings that helped spur this new push:

  • Chipotle Mexican Grill cooks its pinto beans with a little bacon.

  • Panda Express' rice is not vegetarian.

  • McDonald's uses beef seasoning on its French fries.

I like to know as much as possible about what's in my food. And soon, we may see meat disclosures on menu boards.
