The Only Christmas Morning Muffin Recipe You Need

With a festive dusting of powdered sugar, these chocolate chip muffins are a delicious holiday treat. Everything is better with you-know-what, so we've opted out of using oil in this recipe and used butter for more flavor!

Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Muffins

  • ½ cup butter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup milk

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a fluted muffin pan with butter, or line a regular pan with paper liners if you don't have a fluted pan. Beat together the butter, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla until fluffy. Beat in the eggs and milk. Mix in the flour, then gently stir in chocolate chips.

Bake the muffins for 20-30 minutes (depending on the size of the muffin tin), or until a cake tester inserted into the center of one comes out clean. When cool, dust with powdered sugar.
