Texas-tested, Family Approved: Make Fresh Tomato Salsa at Home

In Texas, nothing says summer like homegrown tomatoes and salsa.This is my favorite salsa recipe because it's exploding with fresh flavors! We make this about once a week and serve it with everything from grilled food to tacos.

Ingredients

4 large heirloom tomatoes, quartered
1 large clove garlic, peeled
1 cup cilantro, roughly chopped
2 fresno chilies or 1 small jalapeno
juice from 1 lemon
salt and pepper to taste

Directions

1. Place tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, chilies, and lemon juice in a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth and all ingredients are combined. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve over grilled meats and fish, tacos, or as a dip.
