The (Barbara) Fairchild Cocktail

On my bucket list: Vacation in the Maldives with nary a computer or telephone in sight, prime center-field seat (and a Philip Treacy hat) at the Kentucky Derby, and cocktail named after me. (A bourbon-heavy cocktail, preferably.) Our very own editor-in-chief Barbara Fairchild has already kicked #3 with "The Fairchild," a take on her beloved Martini. It's being served tonight at Boston's L'Espalier as part of the Curator of Taste Summer Dinner Series (Los Angeles is the next destination followed by San Francisco). Every seat at tonight's dinner is unfortunately taken, but you can order the Fairchild off of L'Espalier's cocktail menu for a limited time. Or, better yet, you can make it at home--the recipe is after the jump.
The Fairchild
Ingredients: 2 ounces Belvedere vodka 1/4 ounce premium triple sec 1 dash orange bitters
Preparation: Stir all ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a twist of a Fairchild tangerine.*
*The Fairchild tangerine is in season in the winter months; a Mandarin twist works just as well.
