The 100-calorie craze has yet to slow down, and we here at Hungry Girl are THRILLED. Why? Because we're NOT queens of self-control. However, when we snack, we want it to really count. So we chewed our way through a bunch of 100-calorie offerings, passing judgment along the way. Check out the results...

Reese's Snacksters 100 Calorie Packs Sweet & Salty

1 pack = 100 calories, 4g fat, 14g carbs,
An embarrassingly small portion of little pretzel balls, chocolate chips, caramel pieces, and peanut butter chips. It's almost like a little packet of empty calories... a fairly frustrating snack.

Worth It? NOPE! Delicious but itty-bitty.


Blue Diamond 100 Calorie Packs, Whole Natural Almonds

1 pack = 100 calories, 9g fat, 3g carbs, 2g fiber, 4g protein

This pack is pure and simple. It's full of almonds. That's all. We do have to watch
ourselves around nuts, since the fat (albeit healthy fat) can rack up quickly. This is
the perfect portion size, and it'll satisfy your hunger!

Worth It? ABSOLUTELY! AWESOME...


Orville Redenbacher's SmartPop! 100 Calorie Mini Bags

1 bag = 100 calories, 1.5g fat, 21g carbs, 3g fiber, 3g protein

This is pretty much the largest snack serving you can get for 100 calories, unless you're munching on celery stalks. And these single-serving bags come in butter flavor and kettle corn. There's something for EVERYBODY!

Worth It? Going into the microwave in 3... 2... 1...

Hostess 100 Calorie Packs, Twinkie Bites

1 pack = 100 calories, 2.5g fat, 18g carbs,

Hmmmm. People seem to REALLY like these. And why wouldn't they? They're just super-mini versions of the originals. If you truly need a sweet junk food fix and nothing else will do, grab these. We just get all bummed when they're gone in 6 bites (or less).

Worth It? Yes... they're small but mighty.

Wholly Guacamole 100 Calorie Snack Packs

1 pouch = 100 calories, 8g fat, 5g carbs, 4g fiber, 1g protein

Alright, granted you're not going to just eat plain guacamole straight from the package (or ARE you?), there'll probably be a few extra calories involved here. BUT if you stick to dunking crunchy veggies instead of corn chips, the snack will only become MORE filling and nutritious. And those healthy fats ROCK. Oh, Woohoo!

Worth It? Yes, yes, YES!

Little Debbie 100 Calories Triple Fudge Brownies

(According to us, anyway.) Sure, it's tasty, but it's NOT a
snack. It's an amuse-bouche. It's a tease. Proof that you can
make anything a "100-calorie snack" if you make it a dinky enough portion.

Worth It? Not a chance!

100 Calorie Packs Mister Salty Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzels

1 package = 100 calories, 3.5g fat, 16g carbs, 0g fiber, 2g protein

For those of you (and us!) who LOVE the salt-sugar thing, Mister Salty himself put together the sweetest combo. Chocolate + pretzels = so good! We DO kinda wish there were more... but that's exactly why we need these LITTLE bags.

Worth It? Any day, any time.


Breyers YoCrunch 100 Calorie Packs

1 container + mix-in = 100 calories, 0.5 - 2g fat, 21 - 24g carbs,

Yogurt's good alone, but sometimes it's fun to dress it up. This stuff comes with perfectly portioned crunchy bits for each fun flavor, like Vanilla with Nestle Buncha Crunch Candies or Cheesecake with Graham Cookie Pieces. Adding something to something else makes us feel like we're eating more.

Worth It? Yes, please!


100 Calorie Packs Oreo Mini Cakesters

1 pack = 100 calories, 4.5g fat, 15g carbs, 0 -

These are exceptionally delicious... as well as being exceptionally small. We're torn, because they taste SO good (both the original AND Golden Oreo versions), but it's SO hard to justify the super-meager portion size. If it's just a tiny sugar fix you need, okay. But don't go for these if you're REMOTELY hungry.

Worth It? Only if you can handle NOT eating two more packs afterwards.
