The truth about school lunchboxes is that the outsides are more satisfying than the insides. It's not parents' faults. Packing a good lunch every school day is harder than any Top Chef challenge. The food is held hostage for five hours at room temperature. There are only six cubed inches to work with. Parents are trying to please their kids but also keep them healthy. We know they try. We know we have no right to complain. But today, we remember our least favorite lunchbox items. May the next generation’s lunch sacks be free of the foods that follow.
