TV Dinners: How I Met Your Mother Menu and Party Plan

Ingredients:

Four of your closest friends, an eight-track of Robin Sparkles' hit, "Let's Go to the Mall," and an outrageously large Champagne bottle that's been saved for such an occasion

Preparation: Use tasteful faux-wood paneling and a rented restaurant booth to transform your living room into a makeshift MacLaren's Pub. Hire a Wendy-the-Waitress look-alike to serve dinner and then suit up! Because suits are awesome and so is this party.

Yield: A legen-dary celebration of all things Mosby, Eriksen, Aldrin, Scherbatsky, and Stinson

The Menu: This multicourse dinner features classic bar staples. The gang is often seen gathered around their usual table at MacLaren's, so increase the authenticity of the experience by playing restaurant: Have everyone place their orders, and then present the dishes to each guest.

Begin the meal by bro-in' out with Scotch and cigars, followed by a plate of Buffalo Chicken Wings in honor of Ted's effort to get the snack while donning the Sensory Deprivator 5000, and Nuked Nachos, because you can telepathically tell that all your friends will want some.

The main course is the Ultimate Burger, beloved by all the characters, with a side of Molded Jell-O Salad. Our recipe includes actual veggies like celery and carrots, but to re-create the Eriksen Seven-Layer Salad, add some Gummi Bears, Funyuns, and potato chips to the mix as well.

Finish off with Bleeding Heart Cupcakes as a tribute to Ted, the central bleeding heart of the show, and his baker ex-girlfriend. Garnish them with pineapple slices as a reference to the infamous Pineapple Incident. Now that you think of it, why don't you give Trudy a call?

Party Tips: First of all: Bros do not share dessert, so make a few extra cupcakes, just to be sure. Also, remember to take plenty of pictures for future scrapbooking projects, as Lily would, but when your recently love-struck buddy attempts to sneak a random fling into the photo, lay down the law-only the inner circle gets to be immortalized in these images.
