I'm not quite sure how many people were watching America's Next Great Restaurant but I was and it was pretty interesting to see the different viewpoints and change of opinions about the food. The change of opinions I'm referring to are the ones that Curtis Stone had of being able to create a soul food style restaurant that was actually healthy. Bobby Flay on the other hand felt that if fried chicken wasn't on the menu that the place would be a total failure and that America wants to continue its fattening life-style of eating whatever the fast food chain is offering.

With new restaurants like Chipotle coming out each month I thought that the winner would surely be Spice Coast; given the fact that the owner of Chipotle is going to create an Asian inspired menu of Chipotle. He either stole the idea from the owner of Spice Coast or they have a deal on the side that no one knows about. On the show there seemed to be more competitors whose menus focused on more healthy eating options as opposed to the regular fast food chain that gets excited about the next most fattening item that they have created in their laboratories.

I think that it is really interesting to see the changing view points of everyone in the United States just over the past 2-3 years and how everyone is starting to realize that we can't keep this unhealthy life-style going for much longer. It seems that everywhere you look there is a fast food chain either lowering sodium or coming out either lower calorie options such as Subway and even Hardee's. I don't live near one of the new Soul Daddy restaurants that can be found at New York, Minneapolis or Hollywood; but if you do and have actually been to one, let us know what you think about the restaurant and if it's worth checking out.
