The following five non-traditional dishes are proof that there's definitely some kind of weird food phenomenon going on right now.

The Avocado Milkshake
The good news: Chug Mikey's Burger's Avocado Milkshake and you'll take in plenty of good-for-you nutrients like folate and potassium. The bad news: You have to consume an avocado milkshake. Yucka.

Deep Fried Oreos
As if Oreos weren't delicious enough on their own, some pioneering foodies are now dipping the yummy cookies in thick batter and frying 'em up until they're hot and crispy on the outside, gooey, chocolatey, and creamy on the inside. Holy. Food. Porn.

Lobster Ice Cream
This item has been on the menu at Ben and Bill's Chocolate Emporium in Maine since the early 90s. This means that enough Mainians like chilled, churned, and creamed crustacean for dessert to keep it on the menu for the past decade and a half. Does Maine not have access to deep fried Oreos or something?

Cereal Milk

If you loved slurping away at the milk in your cereal bowl when you were a little kid, then a trip to NYC's Momufoku may be for you. The restaurant toasts corn flakes and steeps them in milk, strains them, and then adds a teeny bit of sugar and salt to balance out the flavor. We're sure it's delicious, but at five dollars a pop, we'd much rather just sip the leftover milk from our Special K breakfast for free.

Pulled Pork and Mashed Potato Parfait

Despite the fact that this dish strongly resembles a caramel and vanilla ice cream sundae (and could really mess with you if you've got a sweet tooth craving), the genius in Porky's BBQ's little cup of savory goodness is that the layers ensure every bite is perfectly balanced - part tater, part tender pulled pork, part spicy and sweet bbq sauce. We likey.
