Be sure and check out foodreview101.com for more recipes, product reviews, and healthy eating ideas.

In honor of Cinco de Mayo I thought it would be fun to look at different burritos in the supermarket aisles and figure out which one had the best taste. You can find many of these burritos at your local market while others can only be found at specialty stores like Whole Foods. This is just our take on the burrito test so let me know what you think is the best burrito on the market.

Best Vegetarian: Evol Veggie Fajita

  • Calories 290

  • Fat 3.5g

  • Sodium 440mg

What we liked most about this burrito was that even though it was missing the meat, it still had a lot of bold flavor from the vegetables. The peppers, rice, beans, and corn really made for a substantial burrito that left us feeling full and satisfied way into our next meal. This burrito is starting to show up on more store shelves as well so if you can find it, we suggest you go ahead and give it a try.

Best Gluten Free: Glutenfreeda Chicken and Cheese

  • Calories 225

  • Fat 6g

  • Sodium 175mg

The problem with many gluten free burritos is that they are more flat than the traditional burrito and seemed to be squished down, leading to a burrito that doesn't have the same "feeling" as a traditional burrito. This brand does a little better job at trying to become a true burrito with great taste and nutrition to as well. If you are trying to reduce the amount of gluten in your diet, or can't process gluten then this could be a great burrito for you to try out.

Best Beef: PJ's Organic Beef Burrito

  • Calories 380

  • Fat 10g

  • Sodium 800mg

As with many beef burritos this one is loaded with a lot more calories and sodium which makes it one of the worst items on this list nutritionally speaking. PJ's does much better nutritonally speaking than many other companies out there that are serving up beef burritos. Some consumers may find it nice to know that much of the ingredients are organic, but don't let that fool you into thinking that you can eat as much of it as you want. This could be an item that has the "health halo" and tricks a person into thinking it's something that it really isn't.

Best Breakfast: Don Miguel Egg, Bacon, Hash Brown & Cheese Breakfast

  • Calories 340

  • Fat 16g

  • Sodium 600mg

This really isn't how you want to start your day nutritionally speaking, but our testers found this burrito to have a nice touch of everything on the breakfast menu. The eggs, bacon, hash browns, and cheese made for a satisfying bite that had a lot of components in it. If you are in a serious rush and need something to eat, this could be an option but only if you're in a rush because as mentioned previously, the amount of calories, fat, and sodium are really going to leave you feeling sluggish until lunch.

Best Chicken: Evol Cilantro Lime Chicken

  • Calories 320

  • Fat 7g

  • Sodium 450mg

This chicken burrito had a really great flavor combination with the cilantro and lime combination playing off of the chicken. As with other Evol burritos this too is made mostly of organic ingredients (70%) and is much healthier than other burritos on the market. If you are looking for a quick and easy lunch this could be a great option for you to try.
