The Spring/Summer 2011 runways were filled with fringe, lace, white dresses, floral prints, 70's revival and sheer everything to name a few. This barrage of new trends can be a daunting task. You can be as on trend as Zoe Saldana! Look no further my little pets, 'cause we have narrowed down the top 8 trends for this spring and summer.

1. Fringe or tassels

Too much can conjure up a western vibe, so be careful and don't overdue this trend. Just one piece trimmed in fringe or tassels will suffice, so keep the rest of the outfit neutral.

Tassle hem shorts by Rare ($60, topshop.com)

Juicy Couture Ollie fringed suede sandals ($97.50, outnet.com)

2. Lace

It's everywhere! Used either as an embellishment or for the entire garment. Just remember a little goes a long way, unless you're Madonna or Lady Gaga.

Reformed by the Reformation Blanche skirt ($79, urbanoutfitters.com)

Lace bodysuit with ruched sleeves ($22.80, forever21.com)

3. Wide leg pants

They're a welcome option from all those skinny jeans that are so tight you have to lie down to put them on. So rejoice in your roomy pants and remember to wear platforms to offset the bulk, or buy cropped versions to appear thinner and taller.

Cropped linen pants ($14.99, spiegel.com)

Alice + Olivia Eric wide leg pants ($264, neimanmarcus.com)

4. White dresses

You don't have to wait for Memorial Day to wear them. Whit dresses show the return to minimalism. Contrary to belief, they can be quite flattering if you accentuate your assets right.

Embroiderd cotton lawn dress ($32.50, charlotterusse.com)

Shoshanna one shoulder ruffle dress ($340, saksfithavenue.com)

5. Florals

They crop up every spring (pardon the pun) and this year is no exception. The runways showed us floral prints on dresses, tops, jackets and even shoes.

Mee Too Fiana shoes ($70, zappos.com)

Guess Lexi skirt ($59, guess.com)

6. Crop Tops

Yup, they're back! They were all over the runways for spring. Wear them layered with a cute tank top or tee underneath.

Free People Harmonica cropped sweater ($78, nordstrom.com)

Truly Madly Deeply mesh heart crop tee ($29, urbanoutfitters.com)

7. 70s style

Designers played with this decade in broader strokes this time with classic high waist denim, polyester blend prints, low cut shirts and clogs. Achieve this style by adding some glam and you're all set.

UK Style by French Connection Ink wide leg jumpsuit($44.90, sears.com)

BCBGeneration shoes, Davis clogs ($55, macys.com)

8. Sheer

Sheer looks great on the runway but they can be a little disconcerting for everyday wear. You can show some skin, but use either nude or tonal intimates underneath.

7 for all mankind Ditsy ruffle front shirt ($49, 7forallmankind.com)

Diesel Black Gold Canvin shirt ($140, ssense.com)
