User post: Watermelon Lemonade

Since this week officially feels like summer, Jeff and I decided to make a "summery" drink! Jeff loves watermelon more than any other food. We saw a bunch of watermelon lemonade recipes on a foodgawker so decided to give it a try ourselves.

(Click on any of the pictures for more recipes on my blog!)

One summer during our family vacation he even ate so much watermelon that he threw up. See for yourself (I had to search around on FB to find these old pictures)...

I still have to remind Jeff to slow down when inhaling watermelon, but he is doing better!
Ingredients:

  • 6 cups water

  • Juice of 3 lemons

  • 2 cups diced watermelon

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 2 cups ice

-First, mix the water and the lemon juice together. Add in the sugar and stir well until fully dissolved (use luke warm water so sugar dissolves).

-Chop up the watermelon and add along with the ice to the lemonade. -Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving!

Not only is this drink refreshing, but also very pretty! I love it. It adds a bit of a twist to plain lemonade. Another great recipe to make and impress guests or bring to a picnic/BBQ.
