Summer is almost here and already the sunshine has gotten our minds into bikini body mode. We all want look our best and have the best abs on the beach, but making changes to your diet is where the work lies. Here are the top foods to help get your body beach-ready!

1. Jalapeños
Not only amazing for adding flavor and spice to any dish, jalapeños can fight fat without adding any calories. They contain a natural chemical called capsaicin, which is responsible for the pepper's spicy flavor, and it can help kick-start your metabolism. Who knew eating could be a workout? Start chopping and add them to practically anything, whether it's an omelet, chili, or a stir-fry!

2. Green Tea
Green Tea contains powerful antioxidants called catechins, which help rid your body of any harmful radicals. It also helps lower your cholesterol while the caffeine content can help speed up your metabolism and burn fat, both which are summer do's.

3. Swiss Chard
Swiss Chard is a dark and leafy vegetable and is ranked second when it comes to health benefits. One cup of this powerful vegetable contains over 200 percent(!) of your daily vitamin A and over 700 percent(!) of your vitamin K. It also contains a high amount of vitamin C, iron, calcium and magnesium and is incredibly low in calories. Loading up on rich and dark leafy greens is a sure way to keep your abs flat.

4. Quinoa
Quinoa is packed with protein and fiber and is a great rice replacement because it's easier for your body to digest. It's packed with zinc, magnesium, iron and folate, which are all necessary vitamins in keeping your body healthy. And it's also packed with all nine essential amino acids, the building blocks of protein. The more protein you ingest, the leaner you'll be.

5. Shrimp
Shrimp should be a supper meal staple. It's packed with protein, vitamins D and b3, as well as zinc. Protein helps to build healthy, strong muscles, which in turn will boost your metabolism. Astaxanthin, a carotenoid that gives shrimp their pink color, also acts as a potent antioxidant that can protect the skin from premature aging.
